Big River Academy

Delivering the power of face-to-face learning

Our Credentials...

The Big River Academy team has many years of experience designing face-to-face learning events in the areas of Category Management and Shopper Marketing Training.

We are also recognised as offering great mentoring and one-to-one training.

We have also embraced new learning techniques as they have become available, and consider ourselves expert at incorporating e-learning where it supports workshops or for remote learning.

We are constantly updating our materials with best practice and up-to-date case studies.

Academy Explore2

Tell us what you want to know and we will create it!

At Big River Academy, we start by working with your organisation to consider where you are now, what goals need to be addressed and then create a tailored solution that will deliver against agreed objectives.

We create customised training based on identified needs or business issues, incorporating (if relevant) any specific areas of interest.

We recognise that resources – both time and money – are precious. We ensure that what we provide is tightly targeted and tailored so that every moment of your training is effective.

We can provide coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training as well as classic classroom training. Along with one of our partners, we are able to create e-training that provides a cost-effective solution that will embed classroom training.

Academy Empower2

...Or select from 9 open workshops

As a top-up to existing training or as a cost-effective solution, we also run open training days specifically targeted at up-skilling an individual.

We currently offer Open Workshops covering two areas:

  • Shopper Marketing
  • Category Development.

There are different learning styles which can be optimised where the plenary output can be put into practice

  • as soon as possible
  • on real-life scenarios and
  • where the language and landscape reflect the reality that the delegates return to.

Open workshops give the delegates the opportunity to network with other practitioners and offer an enjoyable way to hone skills. Delegates will return to work with all relevant training materials.

Byron Sharp says…

Byron Sharp is famous for saying that “sales growth won’t come from relentlessly relying upon a particular segment of the brand’s consumers.” Whilst this statement might have been true in 2010 when he published his book, does it still have a place in the marketing almanac today? Companies such as Proctor and Gamble,  Unilever, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Verizon […]

Online Category Management

As shoppers do more of their shopping online, the e-commerce channel needs to keep up with the changing demands of shoppers and evolving channel capabilities. Many suppliers have become very adept at delivering category management initiatives for bricks and mortar stores. Unfortunately, when it comes to online or e-commerce, this can be an afterthought. The […]
