Category Based Selling Skills

Join us on the 17th November at the Royal Horticultural Society’s incomparable Wisley Gardens, when Big River Solutions is delighted to offer you and your team the chance to benefit from a brand new course, Category Based Selling Skills.

This two-day workshop is specifically designed to enable all members of a commercial team to broaden their business/brand approach and think in a category way. It has been created to teach the basics – delegates gain an understanding of the Category-based selling approach and the role they play within it.

The workshop supports delegates so that they feel able to speak confidently to customers and add a category perspective to decision making. It can be customised to individual company’s needs using an organisation’s own category information.


Key deliverables:

  • Understand how to sell from a category perspective, including key concepts and terminology
  • Understand how to build strong category arguments for customers
  • Opportunity to practice delivering category based selling stories.

The course will cover:

  • A basic understanding of Category Management – language, tools, processes and sources of data
  • The potential benefits of organisation wide Category Management focus
  • The eight step Management process
  • The importance of shoppers
  • How to develop simple category-based selling stories
  • How to collaborate and create breakthrough ideas with customers.
