As a top-up to existing training or as a cost effective solution, we run open training days specifically targeted at up-skilling an individual.

In the area of Category Management we offer two workshops:

Category Development – Basics

2 days

This two-day event is specifically designed to open up the world of Category Development for those with little or no experience.

It is also beneficial for people in your commercial team where some understanding of  Category Development would help.

Key deliverables:

• an understanding of what Category Development is

• an increase in the level of comfort within the delegates with regard to engaging in Category based discussions

• creation of an awareness of the eight step process but also demonstration of  how this can be adapted for all sizes of organisations and all types of review.

The course will cover:

• a basic understanding of Category Development – language, tools, processes and sources of data

• the potential benefits of organisation wide Category Development focus

• the eight step process and how it can be made simpler for easier implementation

• the importance of shoppers

• how to develop simple category-based selling stories.

Category Development – Practitioner

2 days

This two-day event is specifically designed to upskill people who have good basic skills but need to be able to operate at a higher level.

It is equally beneficial for people in your commercial team where a deeper understanding of Category Development, would help.

Key deliverables:

• an enhanced understanding of Category Development

• an increase in the level of comfort within the delegates with regard to engaging in Category-based discussions and developing category based propositions

• an understanding of how shopper insights direct your approach to category.

The course will cover:

• an enhanced understanding of Category Development – language, tools and processes

• the potential benefits of organisation-wide Category Development focus

• how knowing who our shopper is, directs our actions

• how to develop category based selling stories

• how to use Category Visions, POP Visions to enhance plans.
